Carma Spence joins the Hastings Catholic Education Foundation (HCEF) Board with a heartfelt desire to serve both her parish community and her passion for Catholic education. Having moved to Hastings a few years ago from California—her husband’s hometown—Carma was drawn to get involved with SEAS and felt called to make a difference in her new hometown. She is especially excited to use her professional skills in marketing to support HCEF’s mission and to “flex those muscles for the Lord.”

Carma brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and communications. She is an award-winning and bestselling author, speaker, and publishing consultant, using her expertise to help individuals and organizations share their stories and strengthen their impact.

Outside of her professional life, Carma enjoys a variety of creative and personal interests. A lifelong science fiction fan, she co-hosts a sci-fi review podcast with her husband and is an avid reader with interests ranging from psychology to natural history. Carma and her husband live in Hastings with their cat.
